Protest for unfair toll hike

I wonder, can the government setup some online polls for us to vote/voice out opinion before they make their decision on something? After all, this is our country (and it always involves our money). Everybody has the say, not just the leaders, right?

And i wonder, can the government account be more transparent? Anyway we can go to 'audit' the account? How do we know how our government spend our money? based on budget? Did they mention they paying the roadbuilders few billions during the budget?

3 more weeks...

yes, am counting down now...

3 more weeks, a lot of things will happen. What's my plan in the last 3 weeks of year 2006? Let me see:

try to finish reading the books laid next to my bed (they are there for at least 3 months already)

learn up visual basic and .net (requirement from my new company, hey, but no complaint)

watch another series after i finish my current one (now is still '24')

plan to make the yummy cheesecake again, may be during the christmas weekend (do make reservation with me if you are interested, priority will be given to people i can easily meet)

any more suggestion?

A warm rainy afternoon

Believe it or not, we can always find guardian angel around.

Today i was caught in the rain after my lunch. As usual, I parked my car at carrefour, had lunch in subang parade. Soon after my lunch, it was already raining heavily. I waited at the exit, while deciding whether i should go out from the carpark exit facing carrefour, a malay girl came out with an umbrella. After a glance, she asked me where i wanted to go...

As she was also heading carrefour to 'ta pau' lunch (this is exactly the word she used), she is kind enough to let me share the umbrella with her. How sweet...

What's wrong these days?

There are 2 issues that caught my attention these few days...

• The original issue - The shameless technician zoomed the CCTV onto the thighs of the women journalists
  --> already shocking enough especially amongs the ladies. Do we need to be 100% alert all the time?
  
  The joke - Penang Municipal Council president and his brainless response
  --> Can they please stop blaming on victims, and let's focus on the issue. (i know, this is not the first time they do this when they can't find better thing to say. Oh... we just want justice, not an excuse or accuse)

  --> what kind of officers we have? hopeless... next time when officers request to visit our house, must snap shot their photo and id first. And that owner is already very smart, cause he only allowed 2 officers to enter the house. But that was because he already had a bad experience prior to this.

Breaking news... WE FOUND BABE!!

Our neighbour suddenly came to us, and tipped us that there is a dalmation puppy wandering near his house. Wow! my mother just ran there and truely, found babe in between the bushes just opposite that neighbour's house. (about 10 houses away from our house) Poor babe, she must be scared, cold and hungry.

We suspect that babe is dumped there after the thief discovered that she is a female puppy. of course, the other possibility is that she ran away from our house, but this is not very possible as the hole in between the gate are much more smaller than her size.

Thousand thanks to our neighbour... hurray!

Breaking news... babe is lost!

This morning, around 10am, heard my mother rushing to my brother's room and said that the puppy is lost. We have searched the whole house, and the neighbourhood.

It's not possible that babe can escape from our house. We suspect that someone came by and stole the babe, because Whisky barked very loudly around 9 something. But my mother didn't go check as Whisky always bark at car he doesn't like.

sigh... Please, if anyone happen to see my babe in your neighbourhood, let me know. She's only 6 weeks old.

Touch & Go... service = extra charge?

I used to find it difficult to reload my Touch & go card. Below are the possible reload methods:

• Some of the LRT T&G counter (free)
• Some of the highway tolls (counter / T&G lane with reload service, free)
• ATM machine (impose RM 0.50 service charge per reload)
• Zing card (impose RM 2 per auto reload)
• Some of the Petronas petrol station (free until 15th November 2006)
• Other agents (impose RM0.50 according to touch n go website)

I said it's difficult, because i wouldn't want to pay extra for the reloading service, hence ATM machine and Zing card is totally out of the story. And most tolls that i passes everyday do not have the counter / T&G lane with reload service. (i wonder why)

So, ever since i got to know that some Petronas station also provide reload service, i have been reloading my card in Petronas station. And the reload is free, until 15th November 2006. I saw the notice at the Petronas counter today. From 15th November onwards, they will impose RM 0.50 for each reload transaction.

My question is, why should we pay them the service charge for reloading? It makes no sense at all as the company that provide the service should bare all cost instead of letting the consumers to absorb the cost. (imagine you need to pay extra for buying prepaid reload coupon in 7-11)

And do you know that, the Touch & go card already cost you RM 10. This is not a deposit, you can't refund it. The best part is, if you were to terminate the card, and want to get the balance refund, they will charge you another RM 5. Oh... according to the website, if you want to report a card lost, and get the balance transferred to your new card, remember to register your card first)

The polka dots already gone. Now left the white babe alone in the box. She is hyperactive, and yet adorable, but beware, she has sharp teeth.

Although we keep her in a box, she will still find her way out - smart girl.
Although she can escape from the box, she will still cry for help - baby girl.

She keeps biting everything, including her father, yes my Whisky.

But Whisky still like to play with her, just that he will never ever allow her near his food only.

Oh yeah, i nearly forget, that she is still a baby, in the dog's world.

Financial planning (for beginner) - Part I

I met up with my insurance agent today. She shared with me the "ideal" salary allocation that we should be practising.

Puppies arrived...

Brother just brought home 2 of Whisky's daughters. Cute and energetic puppies, one with more dots, another one is quite plain. Oh gosh... Whisky had been busy sniffing at them the whole nite. What is he trying to do? And whenever the puppies pee, Whisky will pee at the same spot again?? And why the puppies pee so often? I think it will be another sleepless nite for Whisky, as well as my brother. Let's see what will happen tomorrow.

An auspicious day

Today is definitely an auspicious day, i guess, because i have 2 weddings to attend on the same day. To be fair, i decided to attend both of the weddings.

In the morning, I went to Teik Lee and Lena's church wedding ceremony at Church of St Ignatius. I know Teik Lee since form 3, but didn't know him well. Until in form 6, he sat beside me in the classroom, that's when i get to know him better. A talented, fun and gentleman kind of guy, but like to tease me a lot. (Not to promote him too much here as he's already being 'taken')
Well, I'm really happy to see both of them are finally getting married, after ten years of relationship, it's a long time, good job. Congratulations!!! (See photo)

In the evening, attended Pei Ling and Tony's wedding dinner at Saujana Hotel ballroom. Pei Ling is my classmate in form 6. A smart, hardworking and trustworthy lady, and she always know what she wants. Hey, she's the first gal in my form 6 class who got married.
Congratulations to Pei Ling and Tony. May both of you happy forever.

Oh... 2 more weddings to attend in December.

Not enough resources?

This morning, my neighbour's car got stolen. Heard that a few guys dismantled their auto-gate, and towed the car out of their house around 4am.

Uh... the police report had been made in the morning, after neighbour discovered about the robbery. But... why there isn't any police officer come by for investigation? Not enough resources? Are they sure there is no witness? Or they already have enough source of information to continue with the investigation? Or they have totally gave up these kind of cases? Or because this is just a small case?

Had a blood donation in RHB training center, bangi ... The nurse kept moving the 'needle', said that my blood will flow faster that way, but it really hurt!!!

2 days 1 nite CH family trip

Well, I think this should be the first family trip we had for the past 20 years. The purpose of this trip is to visit my brother's future parents-in-law in Cameron.

Not much sight seeing, but we do went for the nite market and strawberry farm to pluck strawberry... delicious!!

CLEO Career Workshop 2006

Thanks to Ooi Ling. Her prompt action got both of us registered into the CLEO Career Workshop 2006. This is the 2nd time we are attending the workshop.

At 9.40am, we reached Prince Hotel. Light breakfast was served. After grabbing some sandwiches, we started to queue up for registration. I'd gotten a token numbered 023.

The workshop consists of 4 parts:
1) Face reading & Feng Shui principals - by Joey Yap
2) Products introduction and make-up basics - by Estee Lauder
3) Fitness - by Julian Underwood
4) Career fashion - by Bill Keith

Joey Yap explained how we could tell the characteristics and fortune of a person by doing face reading. (Of course, it's just some simple rules for beginners to follow) So as how we could activate the feng shui at home or office to help in our career, wealth and of course relationship. Am ready to share the tips with you, only upon request...

Julian showed us a formula to stay fit, 3/168. Means exercise at least 3 hours a week lah. May everyone be very very healthy...

The designer Bill Keith, is surprisingly friendly. He shared some opinions on how girls should carried out our own image, in a right way, from a guy's view. Not just by using makeup and wearing nice clothes. Oh yes, he also shared his secret remedy of health with us, the recipe is 2 tablespoon of honey + 1 tablespoon of cinnamon powder, mixed in water and drink it 2 - 3 times a day. Let me try out if it taste good first.

This year, the sponsors are Estee Lauder, Parkson KLCC, FitnessFirst, Ellgy, Netstle... 2 goodies bag full of products for each gal. Lots of big prizes for lucky draw, but unfortunately, the luck is not with me today.

Went to KLCC, mainly because of the PC fair. This is the first time i go KL Convention Centre. At exactly Aug 13, 13:13:13, i got my parking ticket.

PC Fair was too crowded. I was looking for a portable notebook harddisk, but i don't find really good bargain. Can definitely get one from lowyat with similar price. However, the thumbdrive is quite cheap, lowest price i saw is RM 66 for 1GB.

After i left PC Fair, went to guardian to buy some groceries. Guess what? the cashier forgotten to remove the security tag from the moisturizer i bought. End up, i alerted the security sensor TWICE in every shop that i'd entered. How embarrassing...
